About Us

Mayer and Company is a well-established, full service construction company, with a passion for fine craftsmanship. For over 20 years, our family-owned and operated company has specialized in renovation, remodeling as well as new construction and in recent years remediation—fixing the problems where other builders have failed. We also believe in “building it green” whenever possible. With the purpose of building great things, and a dedication to its customers—we are a truly great company.

Established in 1989, our company is a full service construction company, specializing in renovation, remodeling, remediation and new construction. The owner, Kenneth Mayer, of Marin County, is a 4th-generation native of San Francisco. He is a licensed and bonded California Contractor with over 30 years of experience. Most of our projects are done in Marin County, as well as the San Francisco area and Sonoma, and our work has been featured on Home and Garden Television (HGTV).

Trust is integral to every aspect of the building process—with customers, partners, subcontractors, associates, and fellow team members. Our team is committed to every project from beginning to end. From fences to total dwelling remodels, Mayer and Company’s carpenters are experienced, trustworthy and professional, and serve as sub-contractors on the job. Kenneth serves as the working foreman on each job site.
Our team is with you every step of the way.

People are our greatest strength. In a spirit of collaboration and trust, we tackle the challenges of construction with personal integrity, business ethics, and relationship skills.
Outstanding results are the reason customers place their confidence in Mayer and Company.

Mayer and Company values the environment.  We were building it green before green was cool. We make every reasonable effort to recycle all unused material both old and new, during the course of a project, from beverage containers to extra 2x4’s, as well as the boxes in which new products are packaged. We promote sustainability and energy efficiency, whenever possible. A healthy home is a happy home. Building green means incorporating building practices that minimize the impact on our environment and create a healthy living space. Building green helps to conserve natural resources, increase energy efficiency and improve indoor air quality.  Incorporating these practices is becoming easier as more and more companies offer green products. Mayer and Company can help with choosing the best options for your home and budget. The homes we design and construction practices we incorporate and build today will last longer, have minimal impact on the planet, cost less to operate and will actually contribute to the health of the residents.  While specific methods and products may vary from project to project, the basic principles of green building can be applied to all types of construction, from remodeling a kitchen to constructing a new home.

We will provide the finest craftsmanship for your project whatever the scope or size.
Our objective is to deliver beautifully designed projects better, faster and within your budget.
Our emphasis on quality has helped us to excel in the area of remediation – solving construction issues where previous contractors have been unsuccessful. With much experience in remediation, we have tackled issues such as water intrusion, incompatible building materials or products, substandard building or non code compliant, faulty craftsmanship, construction litigation, and forensic investigation.

Our company has achieved great results for many people. We can provide you with a list of satisfied customers as well as more extensive project photos, upon request.
Let our passion for results guide you through the building process.
